OUR APPROACH
About Northside Family
Counseling Center
At Northside Family Counseling Center, we believe every person is created with inherent worth, purpose, and the capacity for growth. Whether you are facing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship struggles, grief, addiction, or a difficult season of life, you don't have to face it alone. Our counselors are committed to walking alongside you with compassion, clinical excellence, and hope as you pursue healing and lasting change.
While every counselor brings unique training, experience, and specialties, we share a common commitment to providing individualized, evidence-based counseling grounded in biblical truth. We believe meaningful change happens when people are seen, heard, understood, and equipped with the tools they need to move forward.
Our Mission
At Northside Family Counseling Center, our mission is to provide compassionate, clinically excellent counseling that is accessible to individuals and families in every season of life. We are committed to equipping people with practical tools, strengthening healthy relationships, and helping every client discover hope, healing, and renewed purpose through evidence-based care grounded in biblical truth.
What You Can Expect
Choosing a counselor is an important decision, and finding the right fit matters. Our team includes experienced licensed professional counselors, LPC-Associates under supervision, and practicum students, allowing us to provide quality counseling services for individuals, couples, and families at a variety of price points.
No matter where you are on your journey, our desire is the same: to help you discover hope, experience healing, strengthen relationships, and move confidently toward the future God has prepared for you.
Our Counseling Philosophy
Whole-Person Care. We believe people are more than a diagnosis or a list of symptoms. Emotional struggles often affect physical health, relationships, and spiritual well-being, just as physical illness and life circumstances can influence our thoughts, emotions, and sense of hope. Rather than focusing on only one aspect of a person's life, we seek to understand the whole person. Our counselors consider emotional, relational, physical, and spiritual factors as we develop individualized treatment plans designed to help clients experience lasting growth and healing.
Relationship-Centered Care. People do not live in isolation. Every individual is shaped by relationships—with family members, spouses, friends, coworkers, churches, and communities. Understanding these relationships often provides valuable insight into present struggles and opportunities for growth. Whether you're seeking individual, couples, family, or child counseling, our goal is never to assign blame but to understand the influences that have shaped your experiences and to help you develop healthier relationships moving forward. Because every client is unique, our counselors utilize a variety of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, EMDR, Play Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, and other clinically proven techniques to best meet your individual goals.
Christian Counseling. Northside Family Counseling Center is built upon a Christian worldview. We believe lasting hope and transformation are found in Christ and that biblical truth offers wisdom, direction, and healing for life's challenges. At the same time, we recognize that every person's journey is different. Your counselor will always respect your goals and preferences. When desired, biblical principles, Scripture, and prayer can be thoughtfully integrated into the counseling process. Whether you are seeking explicitly Christian counseling or simply desire compassionate, evidence-based care in a grace-filled environment, you will be welcomed with respect, dignity, and genuine care.

OUR BIBLICAL FOUNDATION
Our Values and Statement of Faith
The biblical truths that guide our mission, shape our counseling, and reflect the heart of Northside Family Counseling Center.
"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path."
PSALM 119:105
Our Values
These principles shape every aspect of our counseling and reflect the foundation upon which Northside Family Counseling Center was built.
-
We believe the Bible is God's inspired and inerrant Word and the foundation for truth, wisdom, and lasting change.
-
We believe God's word provides the foundation for all healing; therefore, counseling is based on these biblical truths.
-
We believe lasting transformation comes from the work of the Holy Spirit, and we invite His guidance throughout the counseling process.
-
Northside Family Counseling Center desires to encourage each of you to understand who God created you to be and to fully experience the abundant life God desires for each of His children.
-
Northside Family Counseling Center exists as both a ministry and a professional counseling practice, providing compassionate biblical counseling to individuals from all backgrounds. We welcome people of every race, ethnicity, age, sex, disability, and denomination with dignity, respect, and compassion.
Our Statement of Faith
We proclaim the Trinity of the Godhead and each individual's need for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, as the One and only means of eternal life.
This relationship with Jesus Christ is a covenant relationship based on grace alone and has nothing to do with religious affiliation. This saving grace (salvation) cannot be earned or achieved. It is absolutely a free gift.
Individuals are not predetermined by genetics, family of origin, or other failings in life. Allowing the Holy Spirit to guide you and provide insight to change thoughts, attitudes, and behaviors can overcome these flaws and allow your character to be transformed.
God's word clearly describes a marriage as one man and one woman in a covenant relationship together with God. Marriage is not cohabitating. Each person is to honor the other and remain sexually pure in thought and behavior.
